Mir Mohammad Alikhan, being the key member of National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB) formed by Formal President Pervez Musharraf, proposed the Local Government Reforms after incorporating the best practices adopted globally. He was the key architect of the Local Government Structure in Pakistan, and brought some of the revolutionary reforms which not only improvement the governance mechanism of municipalities, but also brought efficiency and accountability in governance system.
He presented the concept of Local Government Reforms during his tenure as Federal Advisor to the President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf from 1999-2001. The key document for Local Government System is presented here for readers’ interest.
